Peter_VoserRoyal Dutch Shell Plc hopes its plan to use the huge amount of associated gas expected to come from Iraq’s oil production boom over the next decade will be approved soon, the company’s chief executive said on Tuesday.

Iraq has been working to finalise a $12-bln joint venture between its South Gas Co, Shell and Mitsubishi since an initial agreement was signed in 2008, but the government approval for it has still not been given, Shell CEO Peter Voser said.

“We have made good progress, a little bit slower than anticipated,” Voser said.
