Lagos – Oilfield services group Petrofac has signed a five-year co-operation agreement with the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) a subsidiary of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)

The memorandum of understanding, signed together with African firm Taleveras Energy Resources, “support[s] NPDC’s aims to further build indigenous capacity and technical capabilities of NPDC & its affiliates”.

The agreement, which forms part of the ongoing promotion of the Nigerian oil and gas industry, allow the companies to explore options including funding, technical support, training services and asset development/management support on a risk service contract, production enhancement or similar contract basis, Petrofac said.

Petrofac and Taleveras will initially provide financial, technical, capacity and capability building support to help NPDC develop its offshore black OML119.
