TransCanada Tuesday said it will build, own and operate the proposed Coastal GasLink project, an estimated $4 billion pipeline that will carry natural gas from the Montney Play in British Columbia to the recently announced LNG Canada export terminal near Kitimat.
The LNG Canada project is a joint venture led by Shell, with partners Korea Gas, Mitsubishi and PetroChina. TransCanada said it is working with Shell to complete a definitive agreements on the Coastal GasLink project.
TransCanada said the line, which will have an estimated capacity of 1.7 Bcf/d, will run about 700 km (462 miles) from near Dawson Creek to Kitimat.
