russiaRussia may set a unified export duty in April on all dark and light oil products at 66% of the crude oil duty level, while the oil export duty will be cut, Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov said on Thursday.

The Energy Ministry has proposed that the crude oil export duty should be cut to 60% from 65%, while oil products export duties should be set at 66% of the crude oil export duty.

“I believe that in April. I suspect there will be a one-off cut in the oil export duty and a rise in oil product export duties within the boundaries the Energy Ministry has talked about,” Shatalov said. “This is a possible variant, but it is not obligatory.”

Shatalov said a decision would be taken in February or March in order for it to become valid from April.
