Shell reopens Bonga deepwater field after turnaround maintenance

Abuja, Nigeria |  – The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell Plc has reopened the 225,000 barrel-per-day capacity Bonga deepwater oilfield following  turnaround maintenance work, local media reports . The oilfield was shut down on March 4, 2017, for planned maintenance, which involved inspections, recertification, testing and repair of equipment as well as engineering upgrades with Nigerian companies and subsea professional playing key roles. Statoil cuts drilling contract terms for Songa rigs

Eni Ghana signs drillship Maersk Voyager for Cape Three Points project

Copenhagen, Denmark | – Eni Ghana Exploration and Production Ltd has contracted the newbuild drillship Maersk Voyager to drill in the offshore Cape Three Points project offshore Ghana starting in July 2015. The $545-million contract is for 3.5 years with an option to extend an additional year. Maersk Voyager is the last in a series of four ultra-deepwater drillships in Maersk Drilling’s rig fleet. The rig was delivered in February from the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje-Si, South Korea.
