Noble Energy has entered a heads of agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and D&H Solutions to explore the use of floating LNG to export natural gas from the Tamir and Dalit fields offshore Israel, Noble said 29 November 2011.

Noble Energy operates Tamir and Dalit with 36% interest, with partners Isramco Negev 2 with 28.75%, Delek Drilling with 15.625%, Avner Oil Exploration with 15.625% and Dor Gas Exploration, which holds the remaining 4% interest.

The agreement clears the way for preliminary engineering design work ‘to define the technical parameters required for the detailed design,’ Noble said.

‘This phase would be followed, if the parties so decide, by Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and negotiation of relevant offtake agreements,’ the company said.

D&H Solutions is a Norwegian joint venture between DSME and Hemla II.
