Ghana’s Jubilee oil field to produce 120,000 bpd by July

Tullow_Oil_GhanaFollowing  the first oil production in Ghana’s Jubilee oil field in December 2010, and its subsequent daily oil production of 70,000 barrels per day, operators of the field, Tullow Oil Plc, has confirmed that daily oil production on the field would get as high as 120,000 barrels per day by July 2011.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the ongoing Offshore West Africa Conference, OWA 2011, in Accra, Ghana, the Communications Director of the Company, Mr. Gayheart Mensah, stated that investment in the offshore oilfield has got as high as $3.5 billion since it commenced operations last year.

According to him the appraisal drilling commenced in 2008 to define the potential of the greater Jubilee area and this saw the successful exploratory appraisal of six wells.
