AMEC wins engineering contract for BP’s Clair oil field

AMEC has secured a contract worth about £150m from BP and its partners, Shell, ConocoPhillips and Chevron, to provide engineering and project management services for the main platform design for the second phase of development of the Clair oil field located in the UK North Sea.

The company will deliver detailed engineering and project management services for the construction and installation phase of two new bridge-linked platforms.

This includes detail design, follow-on engineering, site support, plus procurement, supply chain services, materials management and information management services for the whole project.

AMEC said that the two new platforms are due to be installed in 2015, with production scheduled to begin in 2016.
