Amec plc completes acquisition of Foster Wheeler

London, UK | – British multinational consultancy, engineering and project management company, Amec plc has completed the purchase of Foster Wheeler and is changing its name to Amec Foster Wheeler.

It comes after the group extended the offer earlier this month after the original expiration date of 4 November passed.

The group’s chief executive, Samir Brikho, has previously described the deal as a “compelling proposition for our shareholders, our customers and our employees”.

Amec said the acquisition was being carried out by way of a squeeze-out merger, which will see Foster Wheeler de-listed from Nasdaq and meaning any Foster Wheeler shareholders who have not tendered into the offer and who are to be subject to the squeeze-out will be compensated on the same terms as Amec’s offer.
